1995   Pay-off of Wolfgang Schmidt and Fritz Hagenmüller; cooperation contract with HSO.
1994   Foundation of SurTec Schachen GmbH in Switzerland, the first subsidiary.
1993   Foundation of SurTec GmbH in Trebur. Extension and modernisation of the production site in Bammental.
1992   Spin-off of SurTec International with the two sites Trebur (office and laboratory) and Bammental (production).
At the end of the year, sale to the Management Buy-Out group Herbert and Bernhard Baunach, Patricia Preikschat and Fritz Hagenmüller, with the support of Wolfgang Schmidt, owner of the plating supplier HSO (Herbert Schmidt Solingen GmbH) in Solingen.
1990-91   Implementation of SurTec groups at Lever Industrial International in Austria, Belgium, Netherlands, Sweden and Brazil.
Extension and modernisation of the laboratory and office building in Trebur.
1989   Acquisition of Elektro-Brite in Trebur, Germany, a plating supplier focussing on zinc and chromates.
Merger of the groups and the product ranges of cleaning/pretreatment and electroplating under the umbrella brand SurTec.
1988   Foundation of the business unit OFT (Oberflächentechnik = surface technology) with the brand SurTec. Herbert Baunach becomes business unit manager OFT.
1975-87   Acquisition of two smaller cleaning suppliers; development and introduction of a comprehensive cleaning and pre-treatment programme for the metal industry under Lever Industrie, the supplier of industrial cleaners within Unilever.
1974   Unilever buys Kemia in Rauenberg, Germany. Entry into the business of metal cleaning, focussing on aircraft and the railway industry.
