Meeting Rising Customer Demands in the Asian Market
The construction of the new technical center of SurTec China in Hangzhou was recently completed. Localize R&D and Secure a Foothold in China
As the modernisation of China's industrial structure continues steadily, the fields of new energy vehicles, smart manufacturing, renewable energy and other related industries have grown rapidly in China in recent years. To meet the needs of local customers and demand in fast-growing emerging markets, a project to renovate the technical centre was launched in 2021. The new 360-square-metre technical centre consists of an application lab, an analytical lab, a QC lab, an R&D lab, two instrument rooms, three product test lines and other related facilities. The three product test lines will cover prototyping of all SurTec product lines and meet the growing demand for low carbon processes and supply chain localisation in automotive, electronics, general hardware and other industries.
After upgrading and expansion, the new technical centre can not only facilitate manufacturing, but also conduct efficient and accurate data analysis, quickly solve thorny problems that arise in the use of products, and provide value-added services. The independent R&D lab in the new technical centre will help improve our innovation and R&D strength in the Chinese market, effectively protect the company's intellectual property rights in technology, enable it to align with demand in the Chinese and Asian markets as a whole, accelerate product innovation and R&D, and benefit more customers.
"The Chinese market is an important driving force for SurTec's global strategic development. We are not only strengthening our business development efforts in traditional industries, but also deepening cooperation with local business partners and enhancing our services for emerging industries such as new energy vehicles, 5G communications, wind power generation and robotics," said Ricky Lam, General Manager of SurTec China.
Continuous Efforts to Promote Sustainability in the Industry
Since its establishment in 1999, SurTec China has grown steadily in the local market. In response to China's announcement of dual-carbon targets, SurTec has drawn on two decades of technical expertise to develop environmentally friendly and high-performance surface treatment solutions and continuously improve the production process based on a comprehensive understanding of the local market and customer needs.
In the future, SurTec will continue to drive research and development in surface treatment to develop more effective solutions and work with its partners to provide comprehensive services and technical support to Chinese customers, promote sustainability in the Chinese market and keep pace with new trends in the industry.
